How to self-exclude from FanDuel
FanDuel's timeout runs 3 to 365 days and can't be ended early; self-exclusion is a year minimum. FanDuel Predicts is a separate app with its own exclusion.
Where to find it
Log in > Responsible Gaming > Self-Exclusion, choose timeframe (FanDuel RG page: 'log in and select their exclusion timeframe through the dedicated self-exclusion portal'). Exact menu labels secondary source gives Account > Player Protection/Responsible Gaming > User tools > Self exclusion. State-specific portals exist, e.g. account.<state>.sportsbook.fanduel.com/responsible-play/self-exclusion.
Before you do it: withdraw your balance and let open bets or positions settle. Once you’re excluded you may not be able to move money.
Your options
Timeout / cool-off (short break — ends on its own)
- Take a Timeout: any length 3-365 days; 'you will not be able to log in to your account for the entire period you've chosen' (fanduel.com/rg/sportsbook)
- Ohio terms: right to suspend account for no less than 72 hours
Self-exclusion (the real block)
- Minimum 1 year, with FanDuel only 'or with all of the operators in your state' (via state program link)
- Exact durations beyond 1-year minimum · unconfirmed
A timeout is a pause. If you’re here because betting is causing harm, choose self-exclusion — and your state’s list on top of it.
Does it cover their other apps and other states?
Partly . Deposit limits span Sportsbook/Fantasy/Casino per RG page. Whether a Sportsbook self-exclusion also covers Casino, Fantasy, Racing, other states, and FanDuel Predicts is not stated on any page that loaded. FanDuel Predicts has its own self-exclusion and deposit limits (FanDuel press release) - treat as separate.
FanDuel Sportsbook, FanDuel Casino, FanDuel Fantasy (DFS), FanDuel Racing, and FanDuel Predicts (separate app, launched Dec 2025 with CME Group). Predicts offers sports contracts only 'in states where online sports betting is not yet legal, except on tribal lands' and stops them as states legalize; financial contracts in all 50 states.
Your balance and open bets
Ohio terms (2026-03-09): 'Any cashable balance in your Account in the amount of one (1) dollar or more will be mailed to you via a check by the 15th day of the calendar month following the calendar month in which you exclude yourself.' Balances under $1 are forfeited unless you contact Customer Service within 72 hours. Pending wagers: not addressed - .
Can it be undone early?
Timeout cannot be ended early (locked for the entire period). Self-exclusion reversal: ; Ohio terms say FanDuel may refuse to reopen accounts where self-exclusion was applied.
Does the marketing stop?
Ohio terms: excluded users are 'opted out of all bonuses' and FanDuel 'will prevent targeted marketing materials from being provided to you.'
Deposit limits and closing the account
Daily/weekly/monthly deposit, wager, loss, time limits and max wager size. Decreases take effect immediately; increases wait 3 days (daily), 7 days (weekly), 31 days (monthly). Deposit limits also apply to FanDuel Fantasy and Casino accounts.
Contact Customer Support (support.fanduel.com). Closed accounts can be reopened on request unless a self-exclusion or permanent exclusion was applied (Ohio T&C).

The gaps people miss
- FanDuel Predicts is a separate app; it offers sports contracts precisely in states WITHOUT legal online sportsbooks, where state sportsbook self-exclusion lists do not apply.
- Self-excluding with FanDuel alone does not block other operators unless you also enroll in your state's program.
- Balances under $1 are forfeited in Ohio unless you ask within 72 hours.
